Behind Closed Doors- Coaching Case Study
Linda Widdop Coaching a Small Group
Behind Closed Doors is a charity which offers assistance and support to those people escaping abusive relationships in areas of Bradford and Leeds. The work they do is vital and the requirement for their service is increasing particularly in the current economic climate. Ironically this has also been the cause of the organisation’s greatest challenge as the decreasing level of funding has an impact on their ability to provide services. As a result the organisation decided to look to alternative sources of income generation to give them flexibility and more independence allowing services to continue. This was new ground for the team at Behind Closed Doors, so SESC has been working with their CEO and Trustees to look at the challenges ahead in their new venture.
Louise Tyne, Chief Executive of Behind Closed Doors said
"Having the support, advice and guidance of our SESC advisor has enabled us to progress an initial concept into a reality. We have been able to move things forward and problem solve along the way. It has also provided us with a link to invaluable resources and specific training to enhance our understanding of the processes involved and requirements of setting up a Social Enterprise".
