FOOTSEY - IMPORTANT - Full Steam Ahead for Rescheduled Trade Fair

Thursday, January 27th, 2011 | Posted in : |

Doncaster Racecourse will host Footsey, the UK’s largest social economy trade fair on Thursday 3 March after the original date in early December fell victim to the severe weather.

Organised by Yorkshire and the Humber Forum and partners, SEYH, DTA and Goodwin Development Trust, Footsey 2010 will allow the public and private sectors to see first hand the way they can do business with social enterprises and improve the communities in which they operate.

A diverse range of over 100 exhibitors have been confirmed for Footsey as organisations and individuals look to capitalise on opportunities presented by the Government’s Big Society agenda. Social enterprises such as Leeds-based The Create Foundation, which tackles worklessness, and Airedale Computer Recycling, which recycles old machines from local authorities, schools and businesses across Yorkshire, will share exhibition space with high street banks RBS/Natwest and the Co-operative.

Footsey will include a Question Time style debate with national social enterprise leaders, designed to clarify the new political landscape. Advice panels and surgeries will be open for those within the sector to learn new skills and share experiences.

Voluntary and public sector delegates looking for good ideas will be able to draw on the expertise of social enterprises; and private sector businesses who want to trade or partner with social enterprises will find the voluntary sector open for business.

Footsey takes place on Thursday 3 March at Doncaster Racecourse. Original exhibitors and delegates have retained their places, but a limited number of additional spaces are still available.
