Health Work and Wellbeing Challenge Fund, Deadline 31st December

The Health Work and Wellbeing Challenge Fund will offer SMEs and local partnerships grants of £1,000 to £50,000 to carry out new initiatives to boost staff health and welfare. Local partnerships can include private, public and third sector organisations and trade unions. The funding can be used to deliver a range of activities including:
•reducing stress and improving other mental health conditions
•providing healthy activities
•ensuring work-life balance
•supportive management
Projects to improve mental wellbeing in small businesses will be a priority.The fund is available over two years with two bidding rounds. The first deadline is Thursday 31 December 2009 for awards in the 2010/11 financial year and bids can be submitted between September 2010 and December 2010 for awards in the 2011/12 financial year. Organisations or partnerships which are successful in the first year can apply for continued funding in the second year.
Organisations should submit an expression of interest ‘as soon as possible’ to determine eligibility. They will then be sent a full application form for completion by 31 December. For further information, visit http://www.workingforhealth.gov.uk/initiatives/ChallengeFund/default.aspx
