Third Sector ERDF Access Fund
Thursday, December 17th, 2009 | Posted in : |
Yorkshire Forward has created the Third Sector ERDF Access Fund, offering grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 to help third sector organisations prepare themselves to make bids for larger sums to the European Regional Development Fund. Through ERDF, Yorkshire Forward is offering projects costing £1 million and above the chance to apply for a grant to cover up to 50% of the total cost.
The smaller grants from the Access Fund will help with preparatory tasks such as the carrying out of feasibility studies, exploring possibilities of collaborative working with other local organisations and gaining expert advice on the preparation of bids.
Successful bids for the larger sums from ERDF must be based upon the fund’s Priority 3 objectives:
part capital (buildings/refurbishment), part transport
business support
social enterprise support
IT development/knowledge
The grants come from the ERDF operational programme for the Yorkshire and Humber 2007-2013, which had over £500 million available for investment in the region. Over £100 million of this was earmarked to support the programme’s third priority of sustainable communities, which is of particular relevance to third sector organisations.
