Continuing Healthcare Domicilliary Care Doncaster PCT

Tuesday, March 02nd, 2010 | Posted in : Health and Social Care, |

The awarding authority is inviting suitably qualified providers from all sectors to express interest in working with the Trust to deliver Continuing Healthcare Domiciliary Care, including meeting nursing and specialist needs for patients assessed as being eligible for Continuing Healthcare (CHC).
In NHS Doncaster’s Strategic Plan entitled ‘Better for You 2008-2013’ the PCTs overall vision and values states:
`We will promote public health and reduce inequalities through prevention, investment, partnerships and the commissioning of high quality accessible services’.
The purpose of domiciliary care is to enable service users to remain in their own homes, living as independently as possible. This includes services for people across a range of user groups; older people, learning disabilities and mental health. It also includes supporting people at the end of life.
NHS Doncaster currently provides substantial levels of care to over 100 Continuing Healthcare individual patients across Doncaster. It also includes more specialised care for patients suffering acquired brain injury, spinal injuries and other long term conditions.
It is anticipated that the majority of this service will be delivered in the patients own home. In some instances there will be a need to support the patient in aspects of their daily living which takes place outside of their home environment.
Bidders need to be aware that it is our intention to award this procurement as a Framework Agreement. A Framework Agreement is an agreement with suppliers, the purpose of which is to establish the terms and conditions under which specific purchases (call-offs) can be made throughout the term of the agreement.

Deadline: 18.3.2010.
