Leeds City Council Independent Adoption Services

Leeds City Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers who are interested in providing an independent adoption support service.

The services provided will be :

-advice line service
- birth parents/ individual counseling and group work (where appropriate)
- access by personal users to counseling, intermediary services and groups
- mediation service
- priority access and preferential terms for additional services, including one off, specific pieces of work and access to specialist training, seminars etc for staff and service users.
-assisting young people's requests to access information from their care files
schedule II counseling for adopted adults

The service must fall within the legislative and policy framework of the Adoption and Children Act 2002, Adoption Support Regulations and the Adoption National Minimum Standards.

The service provider must be registered as an adoption support agency with Ofsted.

Ideally, the provider will have knowledge and experience of the issues associated with the provision of this type of service and in dealing with all those people affected by adoption. The staff team will comprise sufficiently skilled and trained people to deliver this service within the standards set by legislation, Council standards and regulatory bodies.

We are looking for organizations who are interested in working with Leeds City Council to develop this service.
