Partnership Recreational Projects for Disabled Children and Young People
Kirklees Council is inviting proposals from organisations wishing to deliver recreational projects for children and young people with severe learning disabilities, complex health needs, autistic spectrum disorder and high level movement and handling needs.
The Council's aim is to improve the skills of organisations that currently provide activities for disabled children and young people to enable them to be able to offer a wider range of activities and to improve the skills and capacity of organisations that currently offering universal recreational activities so they are more inclusive to disabled children and young people. They envisage that skills will be improved and built on by organisations working together to share skills, knowledge and experience and submitting collaborative project proposals from two or more Service Providers. They wish to commission a number of projects to deliver services between now and 31 March 2011. They are aiming to improve the existing networks and relationships between specialist and universal service providers in the local area and are particularly interested in innovative approaches to service provision. All proposals must involve collaboration between two or more organisations.
