Provision of a Community Cafe

NHS Bradford and Airedale Primary Care Trust

NHS Bradford and Airedale Primary Care Trust is looking to work with partners on the development of a community café located at Canalside Healthcare Centre with pleasant views overlooking the canal in Bingley West Yorkshire.

Initially it is envisaged that the café will be open 08:00-15:00hrs offering an imaginative menu of light lunches, snacks and beverages with a healthy focus. It will seat 20 - 30 people with the potential to expand into the balcony area in the future subject to planning approval. There may also be the potential to provide catering for meetings and to develop outside catering.

Canalside Healthcare Centre will open on 1st February 2010, providing services to the public on weekdays 52 weeks of the year. Services based in the Health Centre include 2 busy GP Practices, a range of Community Health Services (mental health, health visiting, district nursing, speech therapy, and physiotherapy) and a pharmacy / retail outlet. It is anticipated that up to 100 staff will be based at the health centre, some of whom will provide outreach services to the community.

NHS Bradford and Airedale Primary Care Trust is looking to invite expressions of interest to run the café. The successful provider will be able to demonstrate a creative flair for cost effective menus and a commitment to the vision of promoting health through good food.

Closing date for expressions of interest: 12 noon 18th February 2010, please forward your expression of interest to kath.aspinall@anhst.nhs.uk
