Regional Rural Car Share Feasibility Study
Contract for the provision of a Regional Rural Car Share Feasibility Study. Please note that tender submissions must be made in hard copy. Please note tender the last date for requesting documents is Friday 20th November 2009. Deadline for submission of hard copy tenders is 12 noon Friday 27th November 2009.
The principal aim of the study is to commission research to determine the extent, reach and coverage of current car sharing schemes in the Yorkshire and Humber region, with the aim of assessing their potential for improving access to employment, training and key services for people in areas of geographic isolation. This will involve:-
1) An assessment and overview of existing schemes in the region, and the impact of national schemes in regional and local contexts.
2) A survey of the impact/potentiality of informal lift sharing in four contrasting rural locations.
3) An assessment of how well existing schemes are marketed promoted and utilised, including a SWOT analysis of current organisational structures and procedures. On the basis of this analysis the successful contractor will be expected to recommend a future strategy for marketing and promotion.
4) An attitudinal study of existing users and non-users of car share schemes, to identify major attitudinal barriers and incentives to uptake of car sharing options. Contract start date Mon 04 January 2010. Contract duration (months) 3. Deadline Fri 20 November 2009 at 17:00
